We booked this hotel because it was close to the historic district. We were also told there was ample parking available on the street. We were a bit nervous about the street parking but there were indeed quite a lot of parking spots next to the hotel. The location is excellent. In fact, we parked our car and left it there for the duration of our stay as the hotel is so close to the historic area that we just walked about. The hotel itself is very clean and well-situated. We asked for a room with a view and got a lovely room with a view of the Templar castle. The hotel also has a chill-out balcony where you can just lie back and enjoy the view of the river and old city across the hotel. They have an "honesty bar" on the balcony, where you pour whatever drink you want and mark down your room number for payment. Breakfast was great and plentiful; good choice of cheeses, cereals, bread, coffee, etc. At 3:00 PM the hotel treats their guests to a glass of Porto and small snack sized Pasteis de Nata (I had 2!); that was a nice touch! From the hotel you can cross the bridge into the old town where there are plenty of restaurants to eat. From there we also walked up to the old Templar castle (Convent of Christ), up the same steps as the Templars did in centuries past. All are within walking distance. It was an excellent stay. Would go back again.

The hotel is in a great location, only 3 minutes walk to the old bridge over to the old town. It's on a backstreet, so very quiet. The hotel is new-ish with all the modern amenities, and the room was adequate size and very nicely equiped. The bathroom was a bit small, but had all the necessary things. There is free public parking just a couple of minutes away (but it can't be reseerved). Breakfast was stadard offerings, but very fresh and well presented. with a quiet ambiance to get fully awake. There is a roof terraace, with a full-on view of the castle, and an honor system for drinks. Staff werre extrememly helpful and spoke good English. wifi/internet was good

Upon arrival we were offered a pastry and a glass of Port. Check in was easy and the receptionist very friendly and helpful. Our room was larger than expected and nicely decorated. There was a safe, mini bar/refrigerator, coffee maker, and kettle in the room. I will say that the striped carpet messed with my eyes. Breakfast was satisfactory with fresh fruit, some meats, cheeses, breads, cereals, yogurt, juice, etc. Both Eva and Sara were exceptionally cordial and helpful. There is free parking in a public lot across the street. If it’s full, there’s another lot a short distance away.

Located right by the river and the bridge that connects the old town to the new, access to everything was wonderful. Our room with balcony was very comfortable and had views of the castle and the river. The breakfast buffet was varied, including both hot and cold foods and good bread and pastries. The front desk staff, especially Sara and Fatima, went way out of their way to make us feel welcome and pampered. The roof top terrace was a great place to hang out and absorb the views. Tomar Boutique Hotel was the perfect place in Tomar.

The hotel is in a wonderful location, just around the corner from the Old Town and its attractions and about a 20 or so minute walk uphill to the Castle and Convent of Christ. We aren't very fit and are over 60 but managed the walk fine. The hotel is modern and while the rooms were a little small, they were fine for a short stay. The breakfast was good and great value. The staff were lovely, very helpful, friendly and welcoming. Tomar is such a pretty town.
